Description
The Marples family started making marking tools in the 1840’s; This cutting gauge is based on a design from the 1920’s. The cutting gauge is one of the furniture maker’s most fundamental tools for cutting shoulder lines in dovetails and cross-grain work. This cutting gauge features a brass wedge for holding the cutter securely in position tap the wedge out and swap the blade depending on which way round you like your bevel to be; facing or away from the stock for either dovetail marking or inlay cutting.
